Polaris Unleashes More Power, More Innovation and More Value for 2027

The 2027 Polaris Off-Road lineup is all about pushing boundaries. From a 275-horsepower turbocharged RZR Pro R Boost to a revolutionary air-controlled CVT in the XPEDITION, and an all-new Sportsman 500 priced below $7,000, Polaris is proving it isn’t content with standingstill.

“For more than 70 years, we’ve shaped off-road riding by listening to riders,” said Reid Wilson, President of Polaris Off-Road Vehicles. “That’s exactly what we continued to do throughout our 2027 lineup. Whether you’re working, exploring or looking for the next adventure, we’ve built a Polaris for that.”

For the Polaris Model Year 2027 there are three key take aways units.

RZR Pro R Boost: The New King of Horsepower

Ever since the original RZR arrived in 2007, Polaris has continually raised the bar in the sport side-by-side market. For 2027, it raises it again—this time with the RZR Pro R Boost, packing an astonishing 275 horsepower from an all-new ProStar Fury 2.0-litre turbocharged engine.

The numbers alone are enough to grab attention, but Polaris didn’t simply add just more power. Virtually every major drivetrain component has been strengthened or redesigned to handle the additional power.

Highlights include:

A production 2.0L turbo engine producing 275 horsepower
Increased torque and an improved power-to-weight ratio for explosive acceleration
Turbo performance maintained at elevations up to 10,000 feet
An all-new high-capacity clutch system with improved cooling and longer belt life
Dual-radiator cooling architecture for the engine, turbo and transmission
Stronger front drivetrain, upgraded transmission and reinforced driveline components
Refined CVT calibration and new engine mounts that reduce vibration while improving throttle response

The RZR Pro R Boost will be available in both two- and four-seat configurations in Ultimateand Ultra trims.

Ultimate models receive Polaris’ latest DYNAMIX active suspension with new G-out protection and rear bump control, while the flagship Ultra models step things up with race-inspired DYNAMIX DVS, featuring active sway bar links that adjust up to 200 times per second. Carbon fibre trim, BFGoodrich 32-inch tires, exclusive graphics and an MPI GT steering wheel complete the premium package.

Technology also gets an upgrade with Apple CarPlay compatibility, along with an expanded catalogue of factory accessories for riders looking to personalize their machine.

With a starting MSRP of $49,999 USD, the RZR Pro R Boost sits firmly in the premium performance category. It certainly isn’t inexpensive, but for buyers wanting the most powerful production sport side-by-side available, it delivers exactly that. Dealer availability is expected in November 2026.

XPEDITION Gets a Revolutionary Transmission

While the RZR grabs headlines with horsepower, arguably the biggest technological breakthrough in the 2027 lineup belongs to the Polaris XPEDITION.

Polaris has introduced NUMATIX, the industry’s first pneumatic continuously variable transmission (CVT)—a completely new drive clutch system that uses air pressure to actively control clutch engagement. Even more impressive, the technology was designed and engineered entirely in-house by Polaris.

The result is a smarter transmission that constantly adapts to changing terrain and rider inputs up to 200 times per second.

According to Polaris, NUMATIX reduces engine RPM and cabin noise by as much as 40 percent, while maintaining the instant throttle response and durability riders expect from a traditional CVT.

Other benefits include:

Real-time transmission adjustments for smoother, quieter operation
Improved belt grip and clutch engagement during rock crawling, towing and steep climbs
Better low-speed control for snow plowing, trail work and technical terrain
Three selectable drive modes—Comfort, Standard and Sport
An integrated onboard air compressor capable of inflating tires, cleaning equipment and powering pneumatic accessories

Purpose-built accessories include a 25-foot air hose and a portable four-gallon pressurized water tank for trail and campsite use.

The 2027 XPEDITION XP and ADV NorthStar models will be available in both two- and five-passenger configurations beginning at $40,499 USD, with shipments expected to begin in August 2026.

Features include:

Independent rear suspension with 9.5 inches of travel
Up to 11.5 inches of ground clearance
New on-demand all-wheel-drive system with automatic front differential engagement
Factory-installed 2,500-pound winch
26-inch tires mounted on 14-inch aluminum wheels
270-pound rack capacity with five gallons of onboard storage
LED headlights

Starting at just $6,999 USD, the Sportsman 500 offers one of the strongest value propositions in Polaris’ ATV lineup. Dealer arrivals are expected in September 2026.

Warranty Coverage

Polaris is also enhancing peace of mind for buyers.

All 2027 Polaris Off-Road vehicles (excluding Youth models) now include a one-year factory limited warranty, while premium NorthStar models receive an extended two-year limited warranty.

Final Thoughts

Rather than focusing on a single flagship model, Polaris has spread its attention across the entire lineup for 2027. The headline-grabbing 275-horsepower RZR Pro R Boost showcases the company’s performance ambitions, NUMATIX demonstrates genuine engineering innovation, and the affordable Sportsman 500 ensures budget-conscious riders aren’t left behind.

Whether you’re chasing adrenaline in the dunes, tackling demanding jobs around the property, or venturing deep into the backcountry, Polaris’ 2027 lineup offers something for virtually every off-road enthusiast.

Sportsman 500 Delivers Big Value

Not every rider needs 275 horsepower.

Recognizing the demand for affordable, capable ATVs, Polaris is introducing the Sportsman 500, an entry-level machine that packs an impressive list of standard equipment while keeping the price below the $7,000 mark.
